archetypes

i experience a commitment to certain objects.

i call this experience belief, and so it’s natural to me to believe many things. totality and universality are artificial, awkward measures of these beliefs.

i find this model of belief useful. most models of belief that i inherited (i.e., experiences leading to commitments) are robust in lieu of proof – by contrast, this one is robust in lieu of any evidence at all. between friends, it is a shortcut from prescribed philosophical masturbation to nurturing ourselves and each other.

i occasionally experience this acutely and suddenly. sadly, “epiphany” is encumbered with propheteering connotations. it is going nowhere.

but if only they could, archetypes would be epiphanies that people (broadly) are predisposed to have.

i believe that archetypes exist, and that they are useful.
